Retrospectives is a small prepared acoustic guitar piece recorded with Audacity and manipulated in gleetchlab3.
A bent paperclip, bottle cap and binder clip were affixed to a Seagull Maritime acoustic that was strung in an open tuning.
From there, I held some chord positions on the guitar and hit the notes with a plastic pen.
It was recorded into a MacBook Pro built-in microphone. The clip was loaded onto three tracks in gleetchlab and then manipulated using the a delay, stutter effect
and distortion.
For the second clip, the audio was then passed through a cassette player and then re-recorded back onto the computer. This achieves a more saturated and warm sounding recording that you, the listener, may prefer!
The maximalist world of Leon Louder's electronic production is a direct musical translation of digital information overload. Bandcamp New & Notable Feb 7, 2023
For this LP, Formen modified old 16bit effects units which were then cascaded via internal patch points to develop a glitchy sound. Bandcamp New & Notable Dec 18, 2021
